How To Choose Cell Phone Model

Cell phones are one of the fastest moving areas of modern technology; they now boast an ever increasing range of functions but just where does it end? Buyers need help with this problem so they make the correct choice and not end up with a phone they don’t need; below are some facts every user should know before upgrading.

With the advancements in battery technology, batteries last much longer than they did when they were first invented but waiting until the last possible moment to recharge is not a good idea. There is nothing worse than finding out your cell phone battery is no longer holding a charge for very long as you seem to be recharging it constantly and you will probably need a new one.

One easy way to extend the life of a cell phone battery is to turn off the back light or reduce the brightness just so you can see what you need to on the screen. When the phone is operational, it is constantly searching for a signal which is ok when there is good signal strength but if this is lost, it still tries to find a signal using more power and draining the cell phone battery in the process; the same way that long conversations do. When ever you use your cell phone; talking, playing games, listening to music, taking picture with the flash or surfing the Internet, it will drain the battery faster so limit these activities otherwise you may not be able to make that urgent call you need.

Whilst downloading new ring tones and wallpaper is a great idea, many people are given free sample but forget they will be charged for the rest that are download automatically, sometimes without their knowledge. Children are usually the most likely candidates to get caught out like this so if you are buying a phone for your child try to buy a model where you can disable this function with a password.

When buying a cell phone with a one or two year contract or pay-per use agreement, be sure to read the fine print and consider how many minutes you plan to use each month. The process for each contract will differ greatly but arranging a pay-per use contract for a regular phone user is probably not the best option to have financially speaking. Some features like tri-band or quad-band means they can be used in Europe and Asia but these may only be available with phones that are part of a long term agreement so look out for deals that will be of benefit to you.

It is always a good idea once you are happy that your plan supplies everything you need so check the small print in case there are any further costs not immediately apparent that will be payable once you have signed on the dotted line. Don’t forget to find out what insurance cover you have if your new phone is lost or damaged. An insurance warranty is something that brings pace of mind when the chance of damaging or losing something so small is so easily done.

If you decide to buy your cell phone on the Internet, make sure it is not an old or outgoing model unless you do not mind of course; otherwise you may find it doesn’t have all the features you want included.
