Buy the Samsung I8910 HD Or Wait For the Sony Ericsson Idou?
The Sony Idou is a 12 Mp camera phone while the Samsung i8910 is a cool all rounder handset.
Design
The Sony Ericssson Idou and the Samsung i8910 HD are both available in sleek black shades. The touch screen of the Samsung phone which measures 3.7 inches is more prodigious when compared to the touch screen of the Idou that is 3.5 inches wide.
Software and Communication
The Sony handset uses the Symbian operating system whereas the Samsung HD phone uses the Symbian S60 operating system
The Sony Idou and the Samsung i8910 HD both have phone book feature that can store unlimited entries and fields. Both phones have a photo call feature. In addition the Samsung HD phone has a photo contact feature to make calling contacts easier. While the i8910 HD has call records that can store unlimited records of dialed, received and missed calls, the Idou’s call records feature can store maximum 30 missed, received and dialed calls.
The Sony Ericsson Idou can support SMS, MMS, E-mail and Instant Messaging. The Samsung HD handset can support only SMS, MMS and Email. Both phones support voice dial for quick calling. The HD compatible Samsung also possesses the Document viewer feature that lets you view documents in popular formats like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and PDF.
Connectivity
Both phones have USB ports for connectivity with other devices. Blue Tooth connectivity is also present in both the Idou and the Omnia HD for enabling wireless listening.
The GPRS facility of the Sony Idou is integrated with Google maps for navigation whereas the GPRS facility of the i8910 HD is integrated with the Samsung Navigator. The Samsung HD model also has a digital compass to aid navigation.
Audio Entertainment
The music player of the Samsung i8910 has Digital Natural Sound engine for enhanced audio quality. The Sony Idou also has a music player. Both phones have FM radio with RDS. In addition the Samsung phone has an FM transmitter. The Sony Ericsson Idou supports download of polyphonic, MP3 and AAC ring tones. The i8910 allows download of polyphonic, MP3 and WAV ring tones. The 3.5mm audio jack is present in the Samsung whereas it is absent in the Idou.
