Synchronizing HTC Devices

Quite often when we’re looking to buy a new smart phone one of our major criteria is that it must be capable of synchronizing our business calendar and emails. While there are many solutions out there few integrate with the now most commonly used PC based system as HTC devices do. This is largely due to HTCs choice to run the majority of their devices with Windows Mobile which has inbuilt connectivity to both Microsoft Exchange and via Active Sync – Microsoft Outlook.

HTC with Microsoft Exchange Server

Perhaps the biggest player in business email is Microsoft with their Exchange Server. This allows thousands of users to centrally control their email account and calendar from many platforms, be it Microsoft Outlook, an HTC Device, or another smart phone. One of the common calls HTC support receive is from people who know their HTC device can connect to Microsoft Exchange but are unsure of how to do it.

HTC with Microsoft Outlook

There is another option that will enable you to synchronize your smart phone with your email and calendar. By making use of Microsoft ActiveSync, Microsoft Outlook and a cable between your device and the pc you can again easily do one time synchronizations. While this is not a nice transparent process as pulling mail down real time from the server it does serve it’s purpose.

For me the advantage of directly connecting with Exchange are great. I can get my email and meetings on the move and really feel like I never lose touch with my business. While it is a simple process to perform to sync with Exchange, it SOUNDS like it’s going to be complicated. Do not fret help is always at hand. This is an extensive HTC Synchronizing Guide showing you how to synchronize your HTC Device with Micrsoft Exchange server. I recommend you use it at least the first few times you set up your email and calendar on your smart phone.

Obviously since the inception of Android early in 2009 things are changing a pace. Android has it’s own methods and connectivity options which I will discuss on my site shortly.
